Owner Steve Newman is nearly a native to the area, raised just down the road in Cairo, Georgia. Yet the University of Georgia graduate spent many summers in this undiscovered beach area learning the building craft first-hand from his father. That apprenticeship has led to a style which is truly unique among Forgotten Coast builders.

From the beginning Newman's passion was one-on-one customer service and it is this trait which has distinguished Big Fish Construction for many satisfied clients. Steve says “the greatest benefit we provide is one-on-one attention.”

Owner Bo Spring joined Big Fish in January of 2005. As a child, the Chattanooga, TN native spent summers at Forgotten Coast’s beautiful beaches with his family. After gaining over 10 years of valuable construction experience elsewhere, the Georgia Tech graduate decided to make his permanent home in Port St. Joe and has brought with him the same passion for one-on-one attention for Big Fish clients.   

While Big Fish offers a seasoned team of qualified subcontractors, Newman and Spring remain connected to their select group of clients by cell phone and prefer to do all the communicating themselves.
